12 Tags of Tim Holtz - February 2016

Hi Everyone
How are you all doing? Hopefully all is good with each and everyone of you.  Sorry for my lack of blogposts over the last few weeks - had a bit of a lull here (not through choice) but its good to be back today to share with you my take on

This month I have chosen to mix things up a little, not with the techniques - they remain the same as Tim's but more the colours and stencils I've used and a slight tweaking of the theme.
I have touched on the LOVE theme but not in a Valentine 's way
No my tag is all about a lovely couple, Edward and Millicent (Ed and Millie to their friends - thats you and I),  who first met and fell in love back in Dec 1950 and went on to marry exactly a year later in Dec 1951. They never believed it would be possible to have a Christmas day wedding, even though it had always  been a dream of Millies but when true LOVE is involved anything is possible and the dream of a white wedding with snowflakes falling all around became a reality.
So  Ed and Millie's love for each other was the inspiration behind my take on Tims tag .

To create my background I used Tims Monoprnt Technique and the following products: tumbled glass, broken china, hickory smoke distress inks and Tims snowflake layering stencil

I then followed Tims tutorial for the Embossed Paste Technique using Tim's christmas layering stencil and silver embossing powder before stencilling a few snowflakes in hickory smoke distress ink .

I gathered together all my 'bits' and arranged them on my tag before adhering in place.
I added the date of the wedding - Dec 1951 - to a small oval vial sticker

A lovely photo of the young couple taken when they first began courting - don't they look good together?

A die cut heart, covered with paper from the correspondence pad and embellished with a tiny hex nut and black gem .

an ideology arrow with a typed token attached with silver wire and small talk stickers to express the LOVE of this young couple, Ed and Millie .
A delicate splatter of Picket Fence distress paint helped set the wintery scene of the snow falling all around .

And here is my finished tag that I will be entering into
Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016- February

I hope you like my take on Tim's tag and my little story of romance.  Thank you All so much for stopping by today and as always
Thank you Tim for yet another tag full of creative inspiration .

Its time now for me to go get some much needed Vitamin D - yay the sun is out and shining bright (for once) here in my little corner of the world so until the next time I wish you all a
 great day
 and
take care
