'A Bt of Sparkle'... for PaperArtsy

Hi Everyone and Welcome

Happy Weekend! Hope you are all Enjoying! 😁

Tonight I would like to invite you to join me over on PaperArtsy's blog where I'm honoured and privileged to be one of their Guest Bloggers for their current topic 'A Bit of Sparkle!'

I know Me? Sparkle? Yes, it's happening! Not too much though, just a bit!
Of course I've had to stay true to my grungy girl heart so have sparkled up the grunge and created a Christmas bauble using some of PaperArtsy fabulous products.

Heres a quick look at the front of the bauble...

a close up of the central feature - a 'star flower' with a bit of sparkly bling....

and the back of the bauble where the creativity continues.

I'd love for you to join me over on PaperArtsy's blog where I am sharing more photos and details about my creativity.

Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey, November 2019

Hi Everyone and Welcome

Today over at A Vintage Journey it's Tag Friday!
I'm sure many of you are familiar with our Tag Friday tradition but for those of you who aren't I'll explain.
When there are 5 Fridays in the month, the 5th Friday sees some of the Creative Guides create and share a tag. There are no rules or themes just a chance for us to follow our creative muse, go with the flow and create a tag however which way we choose.
You are also invited to join in with our 'Tag Friday' tradition and we hope you will share with us your tag creativity.
I'm sure some of you will have made a tag or two this month in preparation for the festive season so why not join us?
Tags must have been created during the month of November and you have a week from today to link them up.
If you are chosen as our winner you will receive a Pinworthy Winner's badge for your blog and your winning tag will feature in our November Challenge Winners Post and it will also be pinned to our Pinterest Board.

I have missed the last few Tag Friday's so am happy to be contributing this time, especially as its the last Tag Friday post of 2019.
I've created a mixed media long tag. My creativity was inspired by the sentiment 'Peace' one of the lovely stamps from Tim Holtz/ Stampers Anonymous ChristmasTime 2 stampset.

I've kept the colours pale, the detail subtle and decoration simple as I wanted the sentiment to 'shine' with everything else serving to enhance and compliment.
So there's a layer of paper from a Tim Holtz paper pad (Abandoned) beneath layers of roughly applied gesso and PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paints ( Cloud 9, Concrete, Antartica, Hint of Mint)

There's also some crackling, some textured stenciling using a Tim Holtz layering stencil (Stripes) and some painty splatters.

A Tim Holtz Ideology Fluted Star coloured with alcohol ink was the ideal size to cover the tag hole and provide just enough decoration.

Embossing the sentiment "Peace' with Seth Apter/ Emerald Creek Baked Velvets ( Eclipse) allowed it to truly 'shine'! Oh my!!

Theres also some embossed snowflakes along the base of the tag that provide the ideal finishing touch.

I'm really pleased with how this turned and its not often I say that about my own work!
It's one of those pieces of creativity that you need to see in real life to fully appreciate!

If you haven't already be sure to stop by A Vintage Journey to see a fabulous gallery of tags created by some of our Creative Guides.
Don't forget you can join in with us too. So get linking your tags up as we are really looking forward to seeing all your tag creativity.

I would like to enter this tag into the following challenge
Country View Crafts, November Challenge: Hand Stamped

Thank you so much for stopping by today and for all the lovely kind words you always leave for my art.
They are greatly appreciated as are all your visits and follows.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend
Take Care
and
keep on the 'happy side!

Hi Everyone

Its Thursday so  its my day over on That's Crafty's blog
This week I'm sharing the project I created for That's Crafty's 3D Challenge feature that was in the June 2019 issue of Craft Stamper magazine
Some of the team created a 3D project using a That's Crafty's 4x6 inch MDF Chunkie.  Its size, design, quality and creative versatility is superb and it was a pleasure to create with and an honour to be asked to contribute to the 3D challenge feature.
Thanks Laura and Graham at That's Crafty and Trish at Craft Stamper  for the opportunity .

So heres a quick glance of my 4x6 MDF Chunkie

Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey, August 2019

Hi Everyone and Welcome

Today over at A Vintage Journey it's Tag Friday!
I'm sure many of you are familiar with our Tag Friday tradition but for those of you who aren't let me explain. When there are 5 Fridays in the month, the 5th Friday sees some of the Creative Guides create and share a tag. There are no rules or themes just a chance for us to follow our creative muse, go with the flow and create a tag however which way we choose.
You  are also invited to join in with our Tag Friday tradition and hope you will share with us your tag creativity.
To enter all you need to do is link one or as many tags that you have created this month.
Entries must be submitted by midnight on the day the new challenge starts for the following month (Sept 6th)
Jennie, our challenge host this month will chose one tag as our Pinworthy Tag and it will be pinned to our pinterest board and showcased in the following months Winners post.

For my tag I decided to finally use some of my 'unused' stash and I'm ashamed to say I have a lot!!
I think I would have to create a fair few tags to use all that I have!!
I hang my head in shame!

So which of the many made the cut ? Well, the tag itself is one as its a Tim Holtz Etcetera tag that I bought when they were first released - a couple of years ago now I think it was.
The other is a StencilGirl® products stencil that I treated myself to last year.  It's called 'Strength Face'  and is designed by Pam Carriker.

I also drew from my well used stash: PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints (Concrete, Antarctica, Little Black Dress) DecoArt Modelling paste and a Tim Holtz layering stencil (Stripes).
There's nothing complicated about the creativity it pretty much speaks for itself.  I'm sure my finished tag won't be to everyone's taste but I love the powerful dramatic image that both emotes and evokes.
So here's are a  few photos of my tag

'Moments'.

If you haven't already be sure to stop by A Vintage Journey to see a fabulous gallery of tags created by very talented teamies. Don't forget you can join in with us too. So get linking your tags up as we are really looking forward to seeing all your tag creativity.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and for all the lovely kind words you always leave for my art.   They are greatly appreciated as are all your visits and follows.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend

'Eyes' ... for PaperArtsy

Hi Everyone and Welcome

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are all set to enjoy a nice relaxing evening before the start of a new week!
My Sunday eve sees me over on PaperArtsy Blog where I am super excited (as I always am) to be a Guest Blogger sharing a project I have created for their current topic:
'Eye's' .
This was a topic I was instantly drawn to as I have and always have had a real fascination with 'Eye's.  They evoke so much feeling, emotion, inner depth ...and as the saying goes they truly are 'the windows to the soul!'
You could strip away all the other features of a face and the eyes would still tell a story/ the story of the soul that lies within!

So for this topic I have used some of PaperArtsy fabulous products to create a multi layered Art Panel which holds within the layers of creativity a 'deep meaning'!

It would be lovely if you could join me over on PaperArtsy's blog where I am sharing more photos and details.

'Precious Metal'- A Vintage Journey Challenge, July 2019

Hello Everyone and Welcome

Today we launch our latest challenge at A Vintage Journey and I will be the host this time with the challenge theme

Precious Metal
'For this challenge we would like to see some kind of 'precious metal' feature in your project. Think gold, silver, brass, copper aluminium, steel..... It could be in the form of embellishments, cardstock, gilding wax, foil, gold leaf, or rub- ons. Just remember to ensure you create in one of our preferred styles of vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk.'

I have created a 'Precious Metal' Mixed Media canvas for this challenge entitled
'Simplify Life'
-kind of a visual creative 'note to self!'

As I will be sharing details of how I created my canvas on the Friday 19th July over at AVJ, I have just a brief account and a few photos to share with you today.
I featured a few different forms of 'precious metal' in my canvas:

Gold and silver metallic paint

to create layers of fabulous texture and detail.

Some metal ideology pieces: a philosophy tag and a piece of Vignette hardware,

a game spinner, metal ruler, typed token and a couple of long fasteners which embellish, enhance and provide the canvas's title.

There are also some touches of silver gilding wax

to accent some of the elements

and a 'weather rusted' metal piece of hardware that stars as the focal feature!
I think it may be a sink plug fitting of sorts? I found it on the street when I was clocking up some steps earlier this year, what I call my 'street swag/ boardwalk booty' and I think its just the perfect fit for my precious metal 'Simplify Life' canvas.

I hope I have offered some creative inspiration for our challenge. If you haven't already be sure to pop by A Vintage Journey where there is a fabulous collection of inspiring 'Precious Metal' projects created by some of our Creative Guides and be sure to pop by AVJ on the 19th for my Tutorial post.
We hope you will join us in this challenge as we are really looking forward to seeing your creativity.
As always there will be 3 Pinworthy winners chosen at the end of the challenge with each winner being awarded a Pinworthy winners badge to display on their blog and their project will be pinned to our Pinworthy Winners Pinterest board.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today.
Your visits, follows and comments are sincerely appreciated- very much so!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend
Hope its a creative one
Take care
and
'keep on the happy side'
